Free licenses. Not enough hands.
Good day, dear habrolyudi.
Let me introduce the sore idea to the habrosociety. I spread “as is” without claiming to be original. I am in search of people who are ready to pick up the idea and bring to mind.
Background. Free licenses
I think many of you have at least once received (or know / heard about the schemes for obtaining) a free license for software (shareware). Someone sent bug reports, suggestions and wishes, really creative thoughts and received the mercy of the developers, someone participated in some campaigns (starting from improving the quality of software, ending with competitions for the best promotional verse). Often it’s “just interesting”, sometimes because the software is really good, you need it, but at the moment there is no money to purchase it - why not work as a tester in the hope of a legal key?
The idea came to me when I once again noticed how a familiar New Siberian (hello, Novosibirsk!) Constantly makes contact with software developers around the world, really contributes to the development of the product and receives the treasured key (or does not receive). Each time he made contact (sometimes the wait for a full reunion of minds lasted six months, sometimes several days), he decided which way to go (developers are not marketers, they do not always see bonuses), he hoped, he achieved his goal.
Smoothly approach the essence
So, we have two subjects interested in each other - the User, the Software Provider (not only the developers, but also the circle of resellers, who also have their own interest). The first is interested (it is necessary / it would be useful / just necessary) to get a free license (possibly in some way limited, the main thing is to have enough for your needs). The second (even if we take large suppliers) gets a number of positive bonuses - a promo, product improvement (large vendors have enough testers and "creators", of course) and a lot of pleasant moments for small shareware products that seek to improve their level.
If we consider the relationship "Freeloader" - the Provider in the wild, then this is a lot of problems for the user, and therefore the minimum response for the advertiser. The user can’t always get through support giving interesting points, the user needs time to establish contact, the user does not know in advance whether he will receive a key.
There is a project to create an intermediary portal between the two indicated groups. Suppliers are registered in the system, indicate the requirements for users who want to get a license, in turn they receive returns in the form in which they want. Have you felt the idea? Does it make sense to develop? I like it, it’s not so much the feeling that all this can be monetized without any problems.
What do you suggest, monsieur?
The developed project (the calculation on the hub only describes the idea), the registered domain GetFreeLicense.ru, hosting, monetization and promotion of the product (including active negotiations / sales with small and large software manufacturers). Accordingly, 50% of the [potential] income from the project is ready to give to the habro-people who will undertake the project in the portal format. Any discussions / suggestions are welcome.
PS. I apologize for the lack of colorful illustrations that always attract. I hope the topic seems interesting and not "dry." I will listen with pleasure to any reasoned criticism.
Regards and best wishes.
