How water has changed

One day, Hyzr, the teacher of Moses, addressed mankind with a warning.

“Such a day will come,” he said, “when all the water in the world, except that which will be specially collected, will disappear.” Then another water will appear in its place, and people will go crazy from it.

Only one person understood the meaning of these words. He gathered more water and hid it in a safe place. Then he began to wait for the water to change.

On the predicted day, all the rivers dried up, the wells dried up, and that man, retiring to his refuge, began to drink from his supplies.

But then some time passed, and he saw that the rivers had renewed their course; and then he went down to the other sons of men and found that they were speaking and thinking quite differently than before, that something had been warned about them, but they did not remember it. When he tried to talk to them, he realized that they mistook him for a madman, showing him hostility or compassion, but not understanding.

At first, he did not touch new water, returning to his supplies every day. However, in the end, he decided now to drink new water - because the behavior and thinking that distinguished him from the rest made his life unbearably lonely. He drank new water and became just like everyone else. And completely forgot about his stock of other water.

The people around him looked at him as a madman who miraculously recovered from his madness.
