Korean netbook weighing 315 grams
UMID from South Korea introduced a new netbook weighing just 315 grams. It will be equipped with a 4.8 inch touch screen with a resolution of 1024 * 600, the size of the device has not yet been reported.
The UMID netbook is based on an Intel Atom processor with a frequency of 1.33 GHz. The amount of RAM is 1 GB, SSD-drive - 32 gigabytes. Wireless communication is represented by HSDPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is also a netbook slot for a microSD memory card and a miniUSB connector. Built-in webcam with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels.
Of the possible pre-installed operating systems, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and any operating system based on the Linux kernel are currently declared.
UMID has not yet reported either the cost of the netbook or the start date of its sales, there is also no information on the battery life of the device, but probably in 2009 this “toy” will be released.
