iPhone + iTunes: how to get an account to download applications

This note will be interesting to those who bought an iPhone but live in a country where the iTunes Store does not work, as a result of which you cannot register in the iTunes store to download additional programs to your phone.

I live in Belarus and iPhones are not sold here. But you can buy it from neighbors, for example, they brought me from Warsaw, where I bought it without a contract in the store of the telephone operator Era . The phone began to work with the local operator Velcom immediately after installing a SIM card in it (although I heard that they need to be unlocked, etc.).

    iPhone's Naked

After several hours of joyful study of the device, the idea arose that this toy by itself without additional programs and the Internet is not so interesting. I found the programs that interest me in the iTunes store, but what was my surprise and disappointment - I can not register in the iTunes store to download and install FREE programs. When registering, you must specify the credit card number and address, and they must be from a limited list of countries in which iTunes works.

Helped Google and this post on Justin Ciappara’s blog .

    So, a free iTunes account

    Follow these steps:
    • Go to the iTunes Store and select a country (I chose USA).
    • Find in the store a free application that interests you.
    • Click on the “Get app” button.
    • You will be prompted to log in, click create a new account.
    • In the second step of creating your account, you will be asked to indicate the type of credit card, select “none” (this option is not available if you just immediately start registering in iTunes).
    • Please enter an address. iTunes checks that you entered the address, zip code, state. So I entered the real address of the hotel (google helped again).
    • After that, you will be sent a letter to confirm the e-mail address, open the letter in your inbox and click on the confirmation link.
