Iomega has announced the launch of its new Iomega StorCenter ix2, a network-attached storage solution for office and home use.
StorCenter ix2 storage consists of two SATA-II hard drives plus a mini PC based on EMC LifeLine software (a special software package from Linux and service applications), with a 400-MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM. Included is a Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB and EnergyStar- “approved” power adapter.
Iomega offers two StorCenter ix2 models. 1 TB and 2 TB. This joy costs $ 300 (for a terabyte model) and $ 480 for a 2-terabyte storage.
