Classic bookmarks on-line
(Do not judge strictly: the first post. Tell me how to make them better.)
No need to explain the convenience of synchronizing bookmarks - it is obvious. I used to use Google Sync, but starting with FF3 they stopped supporting it.
In search of a convenient replacement, I tried all the most popular bookmarking services. They provide a ton of new features (tags, ratings, etc.), but they don’t solve the main purpose for me - convenient work and cataloging with my favorites. For example, it does not seem convenient to me that to open a bookmark, I first need to load the service page. It is also not convenient that they all go by a common list, without hierarchy. Bookmarks from the Google bar are also not convenient, because they go by the list.
In a word, I wanted the usual browser bookmarks, but the same at home and at work.
I came to the decision to use Yandex bookmarks.
In Yandex, the most convenient bookmarks in my opinion:
1. They are arranged in folders, as usual.
2. Sorted alphabetically automatically, conveniently.
3. When connecting, Yandex.Bar is available without having to load the page, quickly.
4. If Yandex.Bar infuriates you, you can turn it off in the View menu, and use the bookmarks button (and a couple of useful Yandex.Bar features, such as traffic jams, weather), drag it onto the panel, for example, Google Panel , beautifully.
As a result, I have a panel from Google in Fox, but which added weather and traffic jams from Yandex and its bookmarks, which on all machines are now the same, neat, familiar, convenient bookmarks.
Here's what it looks like: View on Yandex.Photos
