DimP - player with direct manipulation of the footage
Looking through articles on techCrunch, I found just such an article about an interesting video player.
DimP is a player of direct manipulation of a video sequence that allows users to move objects captured on a video directly on the screen, thereby scrolling the movie forward or backward without using the scroll bar. This allows you to track the movement of various objects, simply moving objects on the screen from point A to point B, which not only looks exciting, but also allows the viewer to find the right moment in the video “at least twice as fast as before”.
Well and better than any words, this video will tell and show how the player works:
A statement submitted by developers from the University of Toronto stated that the player’s working method is as follows:
1) it automatically analyzes the video, and then
2) a new technology comes into play, called “relational video sequence management”, allowing the viewer to manipulate the video sequence by moving desired objects along the corresponding visual path.
