Memristor created!
According to Kompyulenta , HP experts created a memristor - the fourth passive element of electrical circuits. The memristor operates on the basis of the known physical phenomenon of hard magnetic materials - hysteresis.
The advantages of the memristor are obvious - the memory becomes non-volatile and is able to maintain its state in case of a sudden power outage. But what the publication was silent about was the fact that a fairly strong current was needed to magnetize magnetically hard material. Where it will come from in portable systems is a mystery.
