iPhone and me

The other day I bought an iPhone. What to do with this woe-phone is not clear. But now I have it. But there is no one from someone else who would have every chance to buy this miracle of technology if I hadn’t bought it. This miracle would have been sad and lonely in the store. I could not allow this in any way, and now, after the official adoption ceremony, aiTelefonco lives with me. Perhaps he would have been more fortunate if someone else had bought it, would have done something good, bright, eternal with it, but what can you do - the phone has me (headless owner who is wriggling wherever this miracle is apply techniques). A lot of different things have already been said about him. I will not repeat it. I just want to share my thoughts on what you can do with him (except for the desire to give him a crash test against the wall or unsuccessful attempts to figure out the third day how to call him).

It’s worth saying right away that I have very conflicting feelings about the iPhone. On the one hand, even before buying, I knew very well what it was and what it was eaten with. On the other hand, my degree of either geekiness or just harmfulness is apparently growing, and I'm already starting to suffer from the disease of all those who do not like Apple devices. Where are the settings? Where did they share all my settings? How can I configure this phone for myself, so that ME, and not someone else, would be convenient to use it? Once again, the idea is confirmed - if you do not see / do not know something, this does not mean that it is not there. There are enough settings there with the head, another thing is that you can’t change anything significantly here.

So far, I have an opinion about him: the iPhone is more like a male phone, despite the fact that the girls are delighted with it. In delight, they remain until they are held in their hands. It is big, I would say it is very big for a phone. It’s hard enough for me with my little hands. Of course, I’ve gotten used to it a bit, but nevertheless, I'm still afraid to accidentally drop it from my hands. He is heavy. It can not be compared with my previous lightweight clamshell-nokia. What is there in it that makes people buy it, especially for that kind of money?

It is regrettable that for many iPhones it is a “super-mega-device” and a “glamorous gadget” (a good show is more expensive than money, aha). We will not be like these people, although the elegance of the iPhone is clearly not taken away. I like that it is soundly made. I like that it is well designed. I like that the usability of the phone (oh yes, this scary word just means ease of use) is top notch. Finally, at least someone took care of me as a user and did a really nice and easy to use thing. The iPhone is great friends with my MacBook. Everything is synchronized by itself using iTunes. Once again made me glad that I was not too lazy to fill out the Address Book. He himself transferred all my safari mailboxes and bookmarks, I set everything up myself, I just had to enjoy life, receive e-mails and “go hunting” on the Internet as if without interruption from my macbook. I quickly copied the music that I listen to all the time, and most importantly, the podcasts. Finally, I can listen to them normally and correctly on the road. Moreover, the simplicity and ease of all of the above is striking. Once you can choose what, how and with what to synchronize, then you can only connect the computer to the laptop and click one button “Synchronize”, and that’s all.

Apple positions the iPhone as a device in three in one : a phone, an Internet device and a player. My priorities in its use are set the other way around:

    1) player (music is our everything: “music is my boyfriend, music is my girlfriend, music is my hot, hot sex”, as in advertising). Podcasts, podcasts, and again podcasts are always with me!

    2) internet device: Wi-Fi at home, when there is no Wi-Fi - EDGE. Soon (knowledgeable people say, within two months) you can wait for 3G iPhones, but unfortunately, such a fast Internet is not relevant here. There is a Safari, there is Mail, iChat with ICQ and Jabber support (more precisely, the XMPP protocol) and many Web-apps for every taste and color. In the mornings and in the evenings, when the computer is either still or is already built up and is sleeping quietly, and I myself have not woken up (or have not completely fallen asleep), I read Habr and Twitter . I’m broadcasting the series there live - I'm afraid to miss something “interesting”. (Do not forget, all Apple products are designed for housewives, so where do we go without TV shows). In the latest Radio TI, however, like other listeners, were told what else can be done with the iPhone: for example, to read or write something while taking baths. I don’t do it yet for two reasons: firstly, I usually do not take baths, but showers in the morning, and I don’t have much time for training (so the last five minutes, as always, are not enough), and secondly, I’m very afraid to drop a phone in water (not only this, but any other).

    3) And finally - just a phone .

Actually, a certain interesting and funny story is connected with the phone function. I warn you in advance, remove the factory filmimmediately after the purchase, so that such curiosities do not arise. I bought my iPhone on the eve of the weekend, somehow in the first days there weren’t much calls, but on Monday the phone started ringing in the morning. Imagine my horror: I pick up the phone - I don’t hear anything, I bring the volume to the maximum - it’s still very quiet, you’re more likely to guess what the interlocutor is talking about, because the speech is heard in fragments. Who is to blame and what to do? Where to run, and why do I need such a phone on which it is impossible to talk, because nothing is heard? I'm just in a panic. Fuel to the fire is added by the fact that I just can not make friends with his keyboard. Buttons are pressed, but somehow tightly and not immediately (if you can even say so about his touch-screen keyboard). By the way, another fact that confirms that the iPhone is more likely a male phone. Supposed that the buttons on the screen must be pressed precisely with the fingertips. What to do to young ladies with a long manicure is not clear. I had to remember the cheerleader times and cut everything to the root in order to work normally with the device. (Here are the sacrifices made by yablofanatiki, yeah). So, the solution to all the problems turned out to be simple and elegant as the iPhone itself - it was only necessary to remove the protective film. It turned out to be very dense, it prevented me from pressing the Home key, which because of this I had time to dislike, made the interlocutor's speech much quieter than actually (of course, how to try to broadcast a poor speaker with a plastic gag?). Thanks to the forum (Here are the sacrifices made by yablofanatiki, yeah). Thanks to the forumiphones.ru , where such an uninitiated in all the apple-phone wisdom has already managed to answer this question more than once or twice.

In conclusion, I want to say that despite all my conflicting feelings about this phone, I rather like it than not (especially without a protective film). I am not a particularly fastidious user, and he satisfies my needs with a head. It is very important for me that in fact three different devices are combined into one, and it is always with me. The question arises: why did not one of the manufacturers think of making such a device earlier? After talking with the iPhone, you start to expect that all devices will be like that. I am delighted with this new way of interacting with technology - tyts-tyts on the screen! I am already typing up sprightly and quickly, easily changing layouts and placing punctuation marks. Of course, there aren’t enough ready-made emoticons, but nothing (maybe at least I’m unlearned to put them in a word). The device is new, the device is revolutionary, not suitable for everyone, but can’t leave anyone indifferent (oh, how under the touch of a finger the windows in Safari fly apart!). Such is my subjective opinion. Perhaps I will still write on this topic, share my thoughts on this subject, for now. Thank you very much for your attention.
