About top4top, subjectively.

Over the past two weeks, the new year has managed to please us with many events both in real life and the Internet industry. And today I would like to talk about the sensational opening of the “showbiz portal” top4top.ru .

In general, if we talk about the opening process itself, then, as a person closely associated with advertising, I want to express my respect and approval to people who planned to reach the masses. This is a presentation to the leading media, and an open presentation of the “deflated” amount, the number of attracted “stars” , and the hype created around top4top. Well done guys, well done .

So, on the 7th of this month, top4top was published , which was actually announcedall leading online publications. I, an inquisitive lover of everything new, despite the festivities in honor of the Nativity of Christ, decided to try out a new project.

But, like most lysolyubolyov, the site flatly refused to work, even after updating the Flash-player. After that, the top4top.ru tab was successfully closed and forgotten for exactly a week.

And recently, watching TV with a beautiful lady, I saw an advertisement with the notorious Dmitry Dibrov, where he praised his project. The meticulous look of the companion, saying " people are advertising their sites on TV, and you still drive a dozen, " could not leave me inactive.

Another attempt to get to top4top via FireFoxwas unsuccessful, and I opened IE with a squeak in my teeth. Updated the Flash player, and here it is top4top in its greatness .

Flash
The whole portal is made on Flash`e (period) No, I have never been an opponent of Flash`a, as such, and Flash sites in particular, but this is not a promotional site or a game site - this is a large portal with the alleged high volume of content.

The design
was frankly flattered: my first website “on the people” was also in black and red :). The red ball, the lessons for creating which are on every site about Photoshop, is just "cute." The only thing that at least somehow “pleased” these are good icons in the center of the screen, and the fact that almost all of them are copied from cliparts and freelancers, is so ... a trifle.

Usability
What can I say about the white text on a pale gray background, about the non-standard “dented” scroll bar, alien headers and scattering eyes when opening the main page, when I was even afraid to move my mouse so as not to wander into the wilds of the site.

Activity and content
There really is activity on top4top, not visibility, but activity. In principle, the content is quite relevant, but do not forget that this is just a “post-start” period with a well-designed advertising campaign.

What will happen next - we'll see. But I can say one thing if the site is not "removed" from the flash and does not think about the user - hi-bye, 15 million dollars (I don’t even guess where at least a fifteen of them are :)).

The portal did not make much impression. With such advertising and pathos, I expected something more. Weak design and inconvenient information grid. With all the technological innovations - terrible usability. The positioning of the project is unclear.

In advertising and press releases it is served as a site for intellectuals. In reality - reprints of gloss and the yellow press. I did not like the project.
