Black Hat open briefings begin

Today and tomorrow, open sessions of the Black Hat conference will take place in Las Vegas, at Caesars Palace . It will, in particular, talk about new vulnerabilities in Mac OS X Leopard and Windows Vista (of which there are about twenty) and hacking tools.

Among the speakers there will also be quite “decent” people (there are quite a few among ordinary participants) - Richard Clark, a former adviser to George W. Bush on information security, and Tony Sager, a vulnerability expert from the US National Security Agency. The latter will present a report on the development of government safety standards for business use. Bruce Schneier will speak on Thursday to talk about safety psychology.

In addition, Pwnie Awards will be awarded at the conference - this is an analogue of the Oscar in the field of information security.
