yoName - meta-search on social networks
yoName is a metasearch engine that allows you to find people in several different social networks by nickname, first name and last name or email address.
At first I tried to find my friend by his name. I knew that he had an account on MySpace. yoName performed a search on various social networks, and more specifically, on Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, Xanga, Match.com, Windows Live Spaces, LinkedIn and Digg, after which it produced funny results: possible matches were displayed on different networks, however nothing was found in MySpace.
However, if you use a more well-known keyword, the result will be the same. I know a lot of music groups that have their own page on mySpace, so I decided to choose one of them - Wolfmother. In this case, I got a Wolfmother page on MySpace, but besides it there are tens of thousands of other pages that mention Wolfmother, their videos, etc.
When you get the results, you can quickly view the first ten accounts on one page. This is not very convenient if you want to view all of them, but if you are looking for a specific person, then this is not necessary. Sometimes, due to advertising banners, the previews are a little shifted, but still read.
