Optimus keyboard found its roots in Dagestan

The inventor Hamid Khalidov, who lives in Makhachkala, negotiated with Artemy Lebedev Studio for a license for one of his inventions for a month and a half . Today, RIA Dagestan reported that the parties failed to agree - Khalidov decided to end the dialogue with the famous studio.

It was about buying a patent (No. 2214619) for the invention of the hyperfunctional key "Chameleon". According to Ullub Khalidov, brother of the inventor and co-owner of the patent, this development was copied by “Artemy Lebedev Studio” and presented under the name Optimus.

It is reported that at first the attempts of patent holders to start negotiations were unsuccessful. Only an incident involving blackmailing some scammers from Vladivostok, who tried using a fake power of attorney to demand a fee for permission to produce and sell Optimus, could convince the studio to give an answer. Negotiations began in March this year with the arrival of Denis Shokhin, the managing director of the studio, in Makhachkala.

“Denis Shokhin during the negotiations announced his desire to conclude a license agreement on our patent on mutually beneficial conditions, thereby recognizing Khalidov’s de facto priority on this invention and the groundlessness of the studio’s previous statements about the originality of Optimus,” said the co-owner of the patent. But, as it turned out, only the initial stage of the dialogue was prosperous.

Then, during the correspondence, all kinds of inconsistencies began: the studio offered “ridiculous” amounts for the license, wanted to change the terms of the transaction, refused to make “transparent” agreements on the nomenclature and volume of production.

“The last straw that overflowed our patience was the demand for a full assignment of the patent for a period of three years,” Khalidov resents. According to his findings, Art. Lebedev Studio wants to be the "exclusive owner" of the patented technology.

For the reasons listed above, the patent owners decided to stop negotiations with the studio. “We can only regret that“ Artemy Lebedev Studio ”does not want to follow the norms of Russian and international legislation and business ethics, apparently believing that mercantile interests are more important than business reputation,” concluded Ullub Khalidov. He did not mention the intention to resolve the conflict in court.
