About the "Forgotten password" put in a word.

The task always arises of how to remind the user of a password that they have forgotten. There are a lot of options, a simple password change by the robot until the security question is saved. So I would like to ask people - and which way do you like best?


I categorically do not like the options with a security question, so I’ll list the options for reminders without them:

1 - The user enters his e-mail and a letter is sent to him with a new password
2 - The user enters his e-mail and he is sent a letter with a unique URL where he can simply enter a new password
3 - The user enters his e-mail and a letter is sent to him with a unique URL, following which a new password will be generated and he will receive an email with a new password. (that is, a certain upgrade of the first option)
4 - The user enters his e-mail and an email is sent to him with a new password, but with the text that he will activate if he follows the link.

That's just what came to my mind. If I have my thoughts, I will be very glad to listen to them.
