Google and AOL expand the capabilities of their messengers

Google and AOL in an effort to popularize their messengers are expanding the ability to embed them in certain sites.

The other day in the social network Orkut , it became possible to integrate a Google Talk account with a user account on this network. Now you can invite other users to chat via the messenger directly from the service pages, and next to the names of those users who have already been added to the GTalk contact list, their status is displayed ("Online", "Busy", "Offline"). It is worth recalling that recently a GMail account is not required to communicate in GTalk, and an invitation from another user is not required to create an account in Orkut.

AOL (part of Time Warner Corporation), meanwhile, has released a beta version of the API and widgets for embedding its AIM messenger in the interface of third-party sites. In particular, the creators of network services will be able to embed in their sites a window for communication in AIM and a list of contacts with a display of their status.
