YouTube shows 100 million videos per day

The popularity of YouTube continues to grow at an astonishing rate. According to the latest Hitwise statistics , in July 2006, traffic from this service already exceeded 100 million videos per day. This is about 60% of all video traffic in the American segment of the Internet (not including file-sharing networks, of course).

In June 2006, YouTube servers uploaded 2.5 billion videos. Every day about 65 thousand new video clips are uploaded to the site, which is 15 thousand more than a month earlier. The unique monthly audience approached 20 million people.

Thus, the recently launched YouTube site has already managed to take a leading position in the online video market and controls 29% of the entire American online entertainment market.
