Some thoughts on blogs

I have been interested in the question for a long time: will there be an opportunity on Habrahabr to conduct blogs that will be less dependent on people who are not interested in the topic of the blog? I will explain. This is not the first time I have noticed such a situation that someone creates a blog on a topic of interest to him, writes something there, the entry appears on www.habrahabr.ru/new and is bombarded with minuses, not just because it’s completely stupid, but just because there are topics that are not interesting to everyone.

What is it? The blog immediately loses its rating, its creator or authors are lowered karma and all because the record, in the opinion of the majority, is not worthy of appearing on the first page. But penetration to the main page is not necessarily the main goal of a habratopik! It is only natural if blogs combine people with specific interests. Their goal is to share thematic information with each other, discuss, argue, etc. and it’s not necessary to impose your interests on others. Why should they suffer because an interesting topic is uninteresting to others? Not normal to read their entries in his blog "othabrennoe" section.

Now blogs on Habrahabr are essentially just one common blog, and the name of each blog is nothing more than a common label or topic of habratopiks. Any haberman can instantly join any blog and create a habratopik there on any topic (if there is sufficient karma, of course) and just as quickly leave it. You can vote for habratopiks in general, regardless of whether you are on a blog or not. You can create a blog and immediately lose the opportunity to write there if you suddenly drop karma for it people who do not want to see the entries from this blog on the first page.

I have a few thoughts on how to diversify blogs. There is probably no definite solution, especially taking into account the fact that the whole Habrahabr is built around voting and karma, so I just would like to discuss options that blog creators may not have enough and that could increase and diversify the content of Habrahabr:
    1. Entry to the blog is by invitation only or after approval by the administrator. A personal blog, which is maintained by only one person, while others can join to read, or the possibility of establishing the right to create a habratopik on a blog.
    2. Premoderation and removal of habratopiks
    3. Voting for habratopics only by blog participants and possible refusal in connection with this to get to the first page. I’m least sure of this, but on the other hand it seems to me that a social network will only be stronger if there are many separate strong groups inside it (blogs, parties, circles, whatever you call it).
