In preparation for remastering, Blizzard will release an update for StarCraft for the first time in eight years. It will include bug fixes and bugs, an observer mode, a modern anti-cheat system and improved compatibility with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. The update will be available for free download.
In addition to cosmetic innovations, Blizzard will redesign the network game search system to 2017 standards, which will simplify Internet battles between StarCraft fans. There will also be added new illustrations and icons of characters that will better reveal the history of the world of StarCraft.

. Surprisingly, the remastered version will be fully compatible with the original StarCraft: Brood War in online game mode, so both the owners of the reissue and the old version will be able to fight among themselves.
The cost of StarCraft Remastered is not yet known. The complete StarCraft II anthology is now priced at 1999 for the regular and 2999 rubles for the digital deluxe edition. Separately, each part of the game (Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm) costs 999 rubles.
For many years, Blizzard has ignored the fate of one of its best games (the latest patch 1.16.1 was released in 2009), created in the last century. After the release of StarCraft II in Blizzard focused exclusively on the new part, giving the original StarCraft at the mercy of the fans. The second part of the game did not succeed in overshadowing its ancestor, and in many regions the game of 1998 is still more popular than the sequel. Do not turn away from StarCraft and numerous players of the "old school" who could not get used to StarCraft II.
Actions Blizzard could be called an attempt to "cut down some money" on the nostalgia of the players, but the developer has no problems with finances. His latest projects HearthStone: Heroes of WarCraft and Overwatch have occupied their niche and are successfully developing, bringing a lot of money to the creator. A great advantage is the approach to remastering: it is only cosmetic and technical processing without interfering with the game balance and mechanics that will appeal to many fans.
It now remains to wait for WarCraft IV.
