Microsoft throws Windows Phone users to their fate?

First, the company decides not to update old phones to Windows 10, now it removes video messages from Skype for Windows Phone

Mobile operating system Windows Phone works well, although this OS seems unusual for iOS and Android users. True, there are still few users of such devices, despite attempts by the corporation to attract additional audiences. Now the market share of Windows Phone has dropped to 0.7%, according to Gartner, and continues to decline.

Apparently, the corporation is tired of spending money on maintaining a product that is unlikely to “shoot”, so less attention is paid to users of Windows Phone smartphones. For example, earlier it was stated that there were no plans to upgrade the OS of old smartphones from Windows Phone to the new version. And now the company said that Skype for Windows Phone will remove one of the key functions - video messaging. The most interesting thing is that you can look at the interlocutor, but you will not be able to send messages. On the other hand, Skype users can send video messages on Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10, Mac, Android, and iOS platforms.

“You can view messages, but you cannot send. If you want to send a message, go to Skype on any of the supported platforms (Windows PC, Mac, Android, or IOS) », - said in a statement.

The corporation this year does not plan to release new smartphones of the Lumia lineup. Instead, the expected release of the smartphone Surface Phone in the spring of 2017. Well, Windows Phone, apparently, will continue to lose market share, if the company continues to “delight” the users of its smartphones with such news.
