Roskomnadzor re-blocked Hideme.ru VPN service. The site again moved to a new address.

From July 24, 2018, Roskomnadzor began to block the VPN-service and anonymizer hidemy.name, previously known as Hideme.ru. The decision of Medvedevsky district court of the Republic of Mari El No. 2-3-246 / 2017, adopted a year ago, is indicated as a basis for blocking.

Interestingly, this is already the second attempt by Roskomnadzor to block Hideme.ru. Last time it was blocked in January 2017 by decision of the Buzuluksky District Court of the Orenburg Region, but the service moved to HideMy.name and continued to work.

Now Roskomnadzor has already blocked the new address - and again the VPN service quickly changed its location and now works at HideMyNa.me .

Earlier on the main page of the site there was an address bar for entering an address and an anonymous visit to any page through a foreign proxy. In this way, it was possible to bypass Russian locks, read Lurk and other prohibited sites. Last year, this line was removed, which was the reason for removing Hideme.ru from the registry of resources, access to which is restricted. But it did not matter much after moving the service.

HideMy.name CEO Markus Saar toldvc.ru that on July 20 Roskomnadzor sent a notification about the inclusion of the site in the registry of prohibited, but without restricting access. At the same time, Roskomnadzor demanded that the prohibited information be removed without specifying what information was being referred to. The site owners asked to clarify what needs to be eliminated, but no response was received - and the site was blocked. The director of the company added that such a decision of the regulator came as a surprise: “Previously, Roskomnadzor responded and entered the dialogue, and even deleted it from the registry immediately after the letters that there were no violations.”

A warning at the request of the site administration: “When commenting on this material, please follow the rules. Please refrain from insults and toxic behavior. Post-moderation works in comments. ”
