Fixed a bug related to the inability to use the Cyrillic alphabet in the names of IMAP folders
The release of Zimbra 8.8.12 was overshadowed for users from Russia by an annoying bug. A number of Zimbra users experienced difficulties with IMAP folders containing Cyrillic characters in their names. We are pleased to announce that the Zimbra development team has successfully resolved this issue.

Just the other day, the Zimbra development team released a patch that fixed a bug with processing characters that are not included in the Latin alphabet. This means that everyone who postponed updating Zimbra to the new version can now safely install Zimbra 8.8.12, and those who have already installed the latest version of the software solution can update IMAP folders with Cyrillic names after the update after installing the patch.
The installation process for the patch will be slightly different, depending on whether you are using a Linux distribution based on .deb or .rpm. So, for example, in the case of Ubuntu, servers will be updated from the official Zimbra repository, which is added to the list of application sources of the operating system during the installation of Zimbra Collaboration Suite.
So, in Ubuntu, if you have all the Zimbra components installed on one server, just enter the sudo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade command so that the package manager itself finds the latest versions of the Zimbra components and installs them independently. After the installation process is completed, you will need to switch to the zimbra user and restart the Zimbra Collaboration Suite services using the zmcontrol restart command. In the case of a multi-server installation, such a procedure will have to be done on each of the servers.
In RHEL or CentOS built on its basis, the update will take place in approximately the same scenario, but due to the use of a different package manager, the commands entered will be slightly different:
As with Ubuntu, with the multi-server installation of Zimbra, you will need to repeat this process on each of the nodes in the Zimbra infrastructure.
