Fun video experience: instead of VR - glasses with Ximmerse Visor-X mirrors
But VR headsets are full of flaws. We tried an alternative way - a helmet for smartphones Ximmerse Visor-X.

And he is full of advantages!
To begin with, I want to honestly say: there are VR glasses at home, and not only very often, but you have to resort to them. For a change. During the use of helmets, some claims were revealed to them:
- It's hard to watch for a long time, eyes begin to get tired
- No matter how the design is arranged in terms of blowing, the space inside is still closed - part of the face sweats
- Even listening without headphones, you almost lose touch with reality (it is, of course, logical, but not always safe)
- There are also restrictions on the use of helmets for people who wear glasses, but this is not our case. Bye pah-pah
- Without a special controller, access to controlling the smartphone is closed
All these problems are solved by the Ximmerse Visor-X helmet. It is also designed to be worn over the head, also provides a larger screen and immersion effect, but in a slightly different way.

At its core, it is a system of mirrors, one of which is in front of the user’s eyes, being a slightly curved display.

It is adjustable, it can be set at the right level.

On the screen, everything is not transmitted directly from the display - but from the second mirror: it is inside.

Of course, it is not visible to the viewer:

The smartphone itself fits into the lid: The

mount is quite reliable, albeit simple: a loop.

Inside the smartphone does not crawl: it is pressed by a special element, which is covered with a soft rubber band:

Also for additional stability, as well as to ensure that the edge of the smartphone is not scratched, there are two "pads".

The helmet is designed for smartphones with a diagonal of 4.7-6.0 .

As a result, you will see something like an enlarged screen before your eyes, and the viewing experience will be comparable to the voluminous video in VR glasses.

But at the same time:
- The eyes are not so tired, although the distance to the screen is small: about 50 mm
- The space is not closed, you still remain in the real world, you can react to external factors
- Face does not sweat
- Access to the smartphone is open: you can pause viewing
- Users who wear glasses have less trouble.
Such a helmet is positioned separately from the point of view of convenience: in principle, it does not dictate a pose. You can watch while sitting, lying, reclining, but at the same time the neck will be in a relatively natural position, and the hands will be free. While viewing from a smartphone is most often a look down.
This, of course, this development resembles the legendary "lazy glasses."

The design of the
helmet is made in the recognizable form of "cardboards." It is light (weight approx. 255 grams), sits well and comfortably on the head. In places of contact with the skin there are soft inserts: in the forehead:

and temples:

Belts that surround the head are elastic and soft: The

frontal lining is easily detached. It can be cleaned.

After use, there were positive impressions. Glasses, not glasses, are comfortable, fit well, but do not have the limitations of the usual VR helmets in the same price category. You don’t have to turn the wheels to adjust sharpness, interpupillary distance, etc. I put it on - pulled the display to the desired level - and you're done.
Everything is visible in full, so such a simple gadget can be suitable for mobile games. Although most of all, it seems to be relevant as a home "microcinema".
Quoting the official description, we add:
With Visor X, what you see is like a 100-inch screen from a distance of 2.5 meters.
According to personal feelings, they add about half the volume, which at home is a pretty good result for personal use.
Helmets are available in black and white .
