    news and events

A large MODX Meetup will be held on March 29 in Amsterdam, about 150 participants are expected (more can be, but the venue is not rubber). There is still time to buy a plane ticket and get the opportunity to chat with the most famous members of the community. Read more at modx.amsterdam .

    MODX development

Thanks to the coordinated work of a small team, which Ivan Bochkarev carefully assembled, it was possible to tidy up a bit both the repository itself and, on the whole, to detect and summarize a whole bunch of problems that should be fixed in MODX.

In particular, a lot of work has begun on putting permissions in the access policies in order: dividing permissions into groups, correcting descriptions and translations, correcting the logic of individual permissions, and so on.

Thanks to the efforts and help of Evgeny Borisov, not all, but many XSS vulnerabilities in the MODX admin panel have been fixed.

It was proposed to add the SECURITY.md file to the repository , which describes the procedure for notifying of detected vulnerabilities in MODX. In part, the lack of a clearly described procedure led to the sad events of the summer of 2018, with massive hacks.

Ivan Bochkarev suggested changing the base font for the code and for the admin panel . Look at the screenshots, it has become much more pleasant.

Ivan Klimchuk added the ability to specify icons for content types . Now the pdf-document in the tree will be displayed with the desired icon. Previously, you could also do this, but by creating an extra template. Now easier.

Work has begun (and, in fact, continued) on the transfer of MODX documentation to GitHub simultaneously with its translation into Russian. Everything is stored so far in the repository from Mark Hamstra , the site itself is https://modxdocs.mhserver.nl/ , and here the documentation is in Russian. Get connected!

In addition, Mark initiated, as part of the work on the documentation, a reorganization of the structure of the documentation itself. You can participate and suggest your ideas in this Google doc .

Vasily Naumkin closed his big request with refactoring , but at the same time, Jason Coward (according to him) is working on his version of refactoring and promises to show the results from day to day, which resulted, in particular, in a certain code freeze 3 branches. Peculiar, because you can continue to merge changes that do not relate to changes in models. The coming weeks promise to be interesting.
