Design on CodeFest. But it is not exactly

Each year, we begin our discussion of the CodeFest program with the question, will there be a design section this year? It will, but it’s not accurate.

And every year we end with CodeFest with the words: “It's great that we did the design section - so many managers came to it!”

The fact is that we have long ceased to perceive design as something about pictures. Design is about solving problems and specific tasks, about how to help the user.

Designers have long ceased to argue which is cooler: Illustrator or Corel, Figma or Sketch. (It’s clear that IllustratorSketch.) Today, a designer needs to understand technologies and methodologies in order to find a worthy solution to a problem, meet budget, find a common language with a customer, and make a user happy.

In the design sectionWe have gathered useful life cases that the best speakers of our time will share. Each of them has unique experience, exclusive rake and dusty skeletons in the closet.

Yaroslav Shuvaev , Head of Advanced Product Development at Ak Bars Digital Technologies. He curates intensively on UX&UI at the British Higher School of Design, develops the Russian community of interface designers Intensive UX&UI.
In his speech, Yaroslav will talk about the design of products based on artificial intelligence.


Valeria Kurmak. Engaged in research and design of user experience (UX). Acts as disability design advocate. In 2016, she conducted one of the largest studies on disability in Russia, based on which she designed guides for adapting the physical space and digital environment of Sberbank for people with disabilities.

Valeria will share the extremely important topic "How to show the interface to someone who does not see."

Baha Egamediev . “For 4 years I studied as a photographer, for 3 years I studied to be an animator at Uzbekfilm, for 2 years I studied at Lebedev Studio to solve problems, for 7 years I’ve been studying to be a process designer in Sbertekh and for a year I’m studying to produce a movie.”

Bach will talk about why an internship was needed in Sbertech, which is not economically viable. As the curator of the internship school, Bach knows the kitchen from the inside. He will tell about the problems that they created for themselves, about how everything was organized, about how people who came to the internship changed.
