Xiaomi Mi5 Pro: flaws, first impressions and live photos from Barcelona

As for the cameras, the time and opportunity to conduct a detailed test of the opportunity did not appear. However, I took a few quick shots and was surprised to find that the front camera in 5 out of 5 cases made somewhat blurry images. The factor of shaking hands cannot be ruled out, but in her behavior she reminded me of a camera from the first HTC One model with “ultra-pixels”. In this case, the image looks normal in the viewfinder.



But the main camera Mi5 attributed to the shortcomings is simply impossible. Xiaomi had to arrange a battle with the Samsung S7 camera in terms of speed, it was these two devices in “automatic mode” that took pictures fantastically fast. At the same time, both focusing and saving the image itself quickly occurred.

As for the software part, but in the case of Xaiomi the rule “saw alone, then saw everything” works. In terms of response speed, the MIUI of the Mi5 interface works as expected "instantly", but without overtaking, for example, my Mi4c - in order to feel the "power" you will need to install games or other demanding applications.

What can I say about the new Mi5, after a personal acquaintance? Considering Xiaomi's pricing policy and if you looked closely at their products earlier, you can safely take Mi5 for yourself. This device, without exaggeration, has a “fantastic” power reserve, and if you are satisfied with the custom MIUI shell, there is no reason to restrain yourself.



Is Mi5 close to ideal? I think no. An experiment with glossy surfaces was made to suit modern fashion, and many decisions (touch-button dots, a curved S6 and S7-style cover, but not a screen, and even speaker holes reminiscent of you know what model) were made in search of that Xiaomi's most original and unique design solution.
