Yesterday, at the annual income statement of Google, its new director, Pichai Sundararajan (better known as Sundar Pichai), mentioned another significant achievement . One of the company's most popular projects, the online mail service Gmail, has reached the threshold of a billion active users per month.

Having reached the billion, Gmail joined the club of other "billionaire" services of the company: Google Search, Chrome, Android, Google Play, Maps and YouTube. For technical reasons, all of these units were assembled last year under the umbrella of a corporation called Alphabet .

To assess the growth rate, it can be clarified that in 2012, Gmail totaled 425 million users, and in May last year - 900 million . Along with the previous announcement of the numbers, a statement was made that 75% of users access the service from mobile devices - most likely, this figure should only have grown by now.
