Striiv is dead. Long live Striiv! The company updates the line of trackers and presents a “smart watch” with a heart rate monitor

Striiv company finally stopped producing most of the early models, removing them from the site , and introduced a flat smart watch with a heart rate monitor.

We recall how it was ...

The lineup was updated in two stages, and at first the company greatly reduced the prices for Touch , Band and Play models , and after that announced that it was the last of its kind available for sale. At the same time, technical support for users who manage to purchase these gadgets will not stop .

This year, the company celebrated its fifth anniversary by presenting at the very end of 2014 its flagship model, which was marked as a smart watch in the company's lineup - Striiv Fusion. And it is on the basis of this model that a new generation has now grown. Nedofusion, or Striiv Fusion Lite and FusionPro are urban smart watches with a heart rate monitor.

The Fusion model was distinguished by the ability to receive and manage calls, receive SMS and other notifications, as well as control some functionality of the phone, for example, a player. Included were additional interchangeable straps.

The previous one - Striiv Touch - became a harbinger of Fusion, and showed the owner who is calling or writing at the moment. The model had a touch screen. Striiv Band , a pedometer with a diode display, which “encrypted” information about achieving goals and charge level,

was introduced earlier . Striiv playIt was a pedometer-clothespin. The entire line competed in the entry-level pedometers segment, along with Fitbit, Misfit, and later the Xiaomi mi band.

    Application

A key feature of Striiv and its main advantage: a truly motivating application. To the primary statistics on steps, calories and distance was added the fitness game “My Land”, the sketches of which were created in collaboration with renowned game designer and illustrator James Ng .

The peculiarity was that in the process the user virtually arranges his space, and when he does not have enough money, he needs to be active. Simply put: your steps are money, but not real, as Fitbit recently did , but virtual. And it really motivated.

    Prerequisites

Looking at the market of wearable electronics, it seems that releasing a bracelet without a heart rate monitor becomes bad form. Not so long ago, their first optics showed Polar . On November 11, the updated mi Band went on sale . The next Fitbit competitor was shown at the IFA . Runtastic gropes for this niche by integrating with Basis . And now Striiv has finalized Fusion, providing the model with a heart rate sensor.

On the other hand, a strange story came out once, when a short time after the presentation of Fusion, the market started talking about Acer pedometers as two drops of water similar to Striiv products, and now, the latter made a simple move to distance themselves from comparisons. True, in this case it is strange why we say goodbye only to the older line ...

Currently, the remaining trackers can be bought at the price of:

The recommended price for the Fusion model in Russia remains at the level of 6,990 rubles . The estimated launch of the updated model in Russia is scheduled for early 2016, and it will be a Striiv Fusion tracker with an optical heart rate monitor.
