21-year-old Markus stole a car in a parking lot and drove up to a BP gas station, where he committed a robbery. He tried to get away from the chase and threw a car near a marshland. The fire department lent police an inflatable boat and a drone equipped with a camera to help locate the suspect.

When the police found the man, his shoes had already sailed away, and cash was floating in the water around Marcus.

The reason for this behavior was drugs. Since 2010, Marcus M. Pfeiffer was addicted to one of the drugs. According to him, he could not give a report to his actions, as he was in a state of withdrawal syndrome. A syringe and cash were found in the suspect's pockets.

According to Arstechnica, DJI Phantom helped catch the culprit .
