Samsung's Too Smart TV Inserts Ads Into User Content

    - Darling, what does this TV allow itself?

A Reddit user complained that his Samsung Smart TV, when playing movies from a USB drive, arbitrarily inserts ads into them every 20-30 minutes. Other users have confirmed that this is really happening.

The author of the first message used the Plex application to watch his films. It could be assumed that the responsibility for the sudden advertising lies with the authors of this application, however, they commented on this fact and completely deny their involvement in it. Later it turned out that this happens with other applications running on the TV of a South Korean company, such as Foxtel TV . Samsung has so far refused to comment on what is happening.

One Reddit reader said that you can disable ads through the settings of the Yahoo service (Smart Hub> Terms & Policy> Yahoo Privacy Policy, and uncheck "I agree"). The collaboration of Yahoo and Samsung to display advertising on the company's TVs was announced back in January. However, Samsung promised that this feature would be not only customizable, but also disabled by default.

This is not the first time Samsung Smart TV has been criticized. The TV, among other things, supports voice control. And just recently, when studying the user agreement (and someone is still reading them) a warning was found : private and sensitive information that you pronounce aloud next to the TV can be collected and transferred to a third-party service. And although the companydisavowed the allegations , explaining that this possibility can be turned off, the scandal has already taken place.
