DEXP Tablets Review: Rugged Enclosures, Powerful Batteries, and More

Vladivostok brand DEXP produces a lot of different equipment - from televisions to gaming laptops. In 2015, he became famous for the Ixion line of smartphones with powerful batteries (from 3,000 to 5,200 mAh), which today includes more than 15 different devices. This line is really a serious phenomenon for the Russian market, since no one has ever produced devices with amplified batteries so massively. However, if you look at the DEXP line of tablets, it turns out that here the emphasis is also on powerful batteries. And it’s even more interesting than long-playing smartphones, because if the last other manufacturers still produce (at least one or two pieces per brand), then there are practically no long-playing “tablets” on the market. In this article, I will talk about four DEXP Ursus tablets with large batteries.

    DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor (17 990 rubles)

There are practically no protected tablets on the market today. More precisely, not so: they are, but are designed mainly for corporate consumers. Oil workers there, gas workers and so on - in an ordinary store you can’t buy an “off-road tablet”. However, now you will buy, since the DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor appeared. This is an 8-inch tablet in a case made of plastic and rubber, and its parts are screwed to each other with steel screws. The device turned out to be quite thick and heavy (13.5 mm and 650 g, respectively), but for lovers of hiking, traveling over rough terrain, and so on, all this is not important - as long as the device does not break if it is accidentally hit or dropped. So DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor, thanks to its rugged case, is able to survive where an ordinary “civilian” tablet will order a long life. From water (available as immersion, not dust) and dust, the device is also protected: the developers declare compliance with IP68. A curious design with beveled corners complements the picture - well, right, the good old Motorola Xoom 2 (that's just the American device has no protection).

As for hardware and hardware, the DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor is based on the Intel Atom Z3735F chipset, which is also used in Windows tablets. But the device in question is running Android 5.1 Lollipop. On performance, you can say this: WoT Blitz goes to the DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor without FPS subsidence, so it’s very possible to play tanks on this tablet “tank”. And play for a long time, about 10 hours. This is thanks to the battery as much as 8,300 mAh - two times more capacious than a typical 8-inch tablet. In general, for hiking and other extreme sports, the DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor is suitable - both thanks to the battery and the case.

    DEXP Ursus NS210 (6 990 rubles)

The battery of this 10.1-inch tablet no longer has such a radical advantage over its analogue batteries, but ... Anyway, everything here is a little better than most other large-format tablets. The fact is that the DEXP Ursus NS210 is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 5,500 mAh, and analogues - 4,500-5,000 mAh. A trifle, it would seem, but provides an additional hour and a half of battery life in any of the modes.

Another feature of the DEXP Ursus NS210 is the use of an IPS screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, that is, HD. This is a very important point, since the market has a darkness of 10.1-inch tablets equipped with matrices with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. It is considered to be not the best for 7 inches, and even more so for really large displays. One way or another, the DEXP Ursus NS210 has a good HD screen.

    DEXP Ursus TS270 Star (8 190 rubles)

Inexpensive 7-inch tablet with LTE support and a number of features that are not typical for budget devices in this form factor. It’s worth starting with the display: usually models with a diagonal of 7 inches and comparable price tags can boast a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, and in the case of the DEXP Ursus TS270 Star we get an HD-format screen, i.e. 1280x800 pixels. The matrix is made using IPS technology.

The operating system is not the latest possible, however, Android 5.0 Lollipop has not yet lost relevance. The role of the hardware platform is played by the MediaTek MT8735 chipset - its capabilities are enough to launch modern 3D-toys like Asphalt 8 with maximum graphics settings.

Well, of course, the battery is happy. Its capacity is 3,800 mAh. Typically, tablets with a diagonal of 7 inches use batteries with a capacity of 2,500 to 3,000 (depending on the greed of the developers). Here, as you can see, an average of a quarter more powerful source of nutrition.

    DEXP Ursus Z111 Skyline (25 490 rubles)

Well, the last device in our "four". This is a Windows 10 transformer tablet with an 11.6-inch HD screen. A feature of the model is a complete keyboard that allows you to turn the tablet into a full laptop. Particular attention to the word "full": being attached to the keyboard, the DEXP Ursus Z111 Skyline really turns into a laptop, it can be folded (closed). Such a design can not boast of all the transformers with Windows that are present on the market today. Here I note that on the tablet itself there are no full-sized USB ports, but on the keyboard (by the way, it has a backlight) there are two of them at once.

The battery capacity is 9,000 mAh, which is enough for about 10-11 hours of battery life in the "Internet + Word" mode. The indicator is very good, and indeed working on the DEXP Ursus Z111 Skyline is nice. Largely due to the rather convenient keyboard and form factor: in the case of a laptop, 11.6 inches is much better than 10.1, but the vast majority of Windows transformers have exactly 10.1-inch screens.

    Total

In general, quite curious tablets, each of which even without batteries has its own curious features. Personally, I liked the DEXP Ursus GX180 Armor the most, although for work I would, of course, take the DEXP Ursus Z111 Skyline. If readers have any questions about these or other DEXP tablets, leave them in the comments. Answers will not keep you waiting;)
