The events of the Back to the Future trilogy could not have happened.

Dr. Emmett Brown was to be shot for stealing plutonium from terrorists. Marty McFly was never supposed to kiss his mother in 1955. His father would never have become a successful person; Marty could not know his future. He and the dock would never have been to the Wild West. All events that occurred in the films "Back to the Future" are impossible. Ask why? Because the time machine does not exist? Nonsense! Everything is much more prosaic.

DeLorian would never have been able to accelerate to 88 mph in the same parking lot.

In any case, this is claimed by the author of one of the entriesblog “Opposite Lock”, which took the time to make some calculations, which, apparently, no one had ever done before. First of all, he found on the map the location of the same parking in the state of California, which shot a scene from the film. Then, using data on DeLorian and information about the routes of dispersal of the car from the film (the first when the dock sends a dog for a minute to the future, and the second when the terrorists are chasing Marty), he measured the distances on a google map. After calculating, he came to the conclusion that even after taking a preliminary acceleration, the parking dimensions are not enough for Marty McFly to reach the coveted speed of 88 mph, at which DeLorian made a jump in time. Instead, it would crash into a booth at the end of the parking lot at about 70 mph,

But his theory has a number of opponents. The main claims are that to substantiate his theory, the researcher used a number of assumptions. For example, that Doc Brown did not make any changes to the design of the DeLorian engine, which is very doubtful. Did Doc spend so much time and effort creating a time machine and didn’t improve it, or at least not optimize its base part? Well, of course, the author committed the main sin of all fans - he began to apply real physical laws to Hollywood creations. As it usually happens on the net, people start lurking over small problems and details, trying to prove their point of view, instead of trying to make this world a better place.
