DUMP-2017 Conference: Testing Section

On April 14, the seventh DUMP developer conference will be held in Yekaterinburg . Traditionally, we publish section reviews from program directors.

Our first post about the "Testing" section. A word to one of the organizers of the section - Anastasia Ronzhina.

This time, the program director of the Testing section is not a person, but a community . The preparation of the section began in the fall of 2016. For example, the first version of the game dev report was made at a meeting of the testers community in November. Now, after a series of runs, this is a new report.

In addition, preparing for the DUMP, we conducted a retrospective of the last section at a community meeting and found worthwhile topics for discussion.

What will the section be about?

The section is about returning to the origins: how to get bugs, and how to think with your head :)

nazina.jpgOver the past year, 9,000,000,000 bugs were created in the world, 100,000,000,000 lines of code were written and 1 product was released without a single bug . I will open the section with a story about how the community lived in the first year of its existence, and what our plans are for the next year.

nazina.jpgOlga Nazina from Testbase.ru will tell you how to masterfully solve a problem that each of us encounters regularly: how to “sell” a bug to a developer and does he need to sell something?

satarin.jpgAndrei Satarin ( Yandex ) will talk about the challenges that testers are faced with the development of distributed systems, the existing limitations and their impact on functionality.

bandura.jpgroshupkin.jpgrychkov.jpgyakin.jpgMistakes occur not only among developers, but also among testers. Anna Bandura , Vitaly Roshchupkin , Anton Rychkov , Dmitry Yakin from SKB Kontur will share fighting stories about how they mowed themselves while they were looking for jambs of others.

gluhova.jpgAnd after that, Masha Glukhova ( Targem Games ) will open the veil of secrecy over Gamedev and compare testing games and software. And even show how to check for bugs on the example of the space MMO-action Star Conflict.

zaharov.jpgzyryanova.jpgtarasova.jpgWe will end the section with three stories from Maxim Zakharov , Elena Zyryanova and Ilaria Tarasovaabout how you can achieve the same goal in different ways, and how to turn a routine into growth. About how testing smoothly transfers to analytics, design and development.

There should be a motivating text, but we did not come up with it, so we are just waiting for you on April 14 at DUMP . Come, it will be interesting.
