Doom launch on Samsung Gear S2

I got an article in the middle of last week that the Doom game was ported to a bunch of different platforms. The list also included calculators and oscilloscopes. There were also watches Apple Watch and Android Wear. But for some reason there was no Samsung Gear S2 and S3 watches that work on Tizen. Strange, the watch is powerful. And I just have development experience for them. Well, I decided, the call has been accepted.

I took the source code for DOOM from Id Software from github as the basis . Everything is written in C under Linux. For several days in the evenings I picked and fixed the code in Tizen Studio. Replaced X11 with Cairo, since the watch does not have X11. I changed the control system, there is no keyboard either. I found in the source and the famous IDDQD and IDKFA.
I set the time for porting before Sunday, so I finished it already at night. And finally, it all worked, first in the emulator, and then on a real watch.

I admit, the post turned out to be quite small. The program literally just started, and I decided to immediately share this news. Now I need to rest)) I

plan to make another article in which I will try to describe in detail the entire porting process. If you have any suggestions, write here in the comments.

And so that you would not be bored of waiting, here is a video with a working game on the clock.
