Microsoft discontinues support for all versions of IE next week 11

On January 12, Microsoft ceases support for Internet Explorer versions 8, 9, and 10. Before completely discontinuing support for obsolete versions of its browser, the company releases the final patch. After that, the indicated versions of Internet Explorer will no longer receive security updates or technical support.

A recent patch fixes several new problems, plus the addition of an End of Life notification that prompts users to upgrade to IE 11 or Microsoft Edge, the next version of the corporation’s browser.

The fact that the old browser versions will no longer be supported, the company first reported in August 2014. According to Microsoft, working with these versions of IE will become unsafe. Many commercial and government organizations will be required to upgrade. According to some regulatory acts, such organizations should only use software that is officially supported by the manufacturer.

However, hundreds of millions of users still use outdated versions of the browser. Microsoft is hoping that the End of life notification will accelerate the transition to new versions of the browser.
