The development of the Ukrainian segment of the Internet was marked by another event - a three hundred thousandth Ukrainian domain was registered.
The most popular and dynamic public domains are still com.ua, kiev.ua, org.ua and .ua. Each of the leaders has a specific, specific target audience. Thus, in the .ua and com.ua domains, registrants, legal entities, significantly dominate (67 and 65%, respectively).
At the same time, there are already slightly more individuals among legal entities in the kiev.ua domain than legal entities, and the vast majority of registrants (82%) in the org.ua domain are individuals.
This is largely due to the difference in cost and terms of the domain registration services. Only three of these domains are located on 17.427 thousand unique name-servers and 36.966 thousand admin-c are administered.
In addition, the popularity of most regional domains has grown. Over the past year, the domains dp.ua and dnepropetrovsk.ua have shown a stable high positive dynamics.
During the development period of the .ua domain, the growth rate of registered domain names has changed significantly. So, to reach the first mark of 100 thousand, the Ukrainian domain took almost 11 years (1992-2003), the next 100 thousand were overcome by the domain in less than 3 years (2003-2006), and it took a little more than a year to overcome the third hundred. The positive dynamics of growth rates is characteristic for the vast majority of domains in the .ua domain. And that means, not far off and half a million milestone.
