Do banks struggle with ATM skimming

Once again, when withdrawing money from an ATM of one of the Ukrainian banks, I drew attention to an information message that asked me to make sure that the PIN-keyboard matches the image on the screen. Having checked the image, I realized that the keyboards are different.

I inspected the PIN-keyboard at the ATM and making sure that it was not an invoice, I withdrew the money. It was an ATM of PJSC Bank Petrocommerce-Ukraine . It turns out that they don’t know what the keyboards of their ATMs look like, or they differ from ATM to ATM.

In the future, I began to study such information messages in other ATMs and realized that this was not a specific bank problem.

They also don’t know what their PIN-keys look like in Oschadbank JSC:

They don’t know what their card readers look like inPJSC ProCredit Bank :

And finally, PJSC Privatbank simply discredited the very idea of combating skimming with just the look of its ATMs:

In addition to the fact that banks themselves mislead their customers and simply force them to ignore information messages about PIN-keyboard and card checks readers, so they also increase the number of actions that customers need to perform in order to withdraw money.

It turns out that this is not a fight with skimming, but its imitation.
