Jul 11, 2019 · Today I was unable to get the rear diff locked . Tried all the normal tricks ( into and out of drive, turning left and right, trying to break the rear end loose on dirt) and just had the flashing red light.

Feb 27, 2008 · From what I've read in previous posts, this is what I've gathered, and want to make sure I'm right. The rear diff lock only works in 4LO, for "safety" reasons. Is this correct? It sure would be nice to get it to engage in 4Hi while navigating through some of these muddy roads.

Mar 8, 2023 · Sometimes it goes straight to turning off completely, but more often than not it will keep blinking because everything stays locked until yiu do a little dance and it falls out of locked .

Nov 2, 2021 · I've been working on my ' 98 4runner with the factory rear e- locker . I recently swapped the 3rd member (4.30 gearing) out, as the previous rear diff had been run dry by the previous owner (due to leaky rear axle seals, fixed those and did rear wheel bearings too).

Nov 4, 2021 · In general, lockers are needed when one of your rear wheels is spinning free and taking the power from the other one, such as when in deep mud or when one tire is off the ground. The locker will “ lock ” the wheel spin together, so your remaining wheel that still has traction will spin.
