The exam is a large three and a half hour laboratory work, in the laboratory you will have a remote test bench and 23 tasks that you need to complete - the tasks will be on HorizonView products. To pass, you need to score 300 points (in total, you can score from 100 to 500 points).
VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Desktop Design ( VCAP-DTD ) - certification for designers, administrators, and implementation engineers working with large-scale enterprise desktop infrastructures built on the basis of HorizonView. Certification requires skills in planning, designing and optimizing the virtual desktop infrastructure.
To obtain certification, you need:
1) Have the current status of VCP
2) Take the course (optional) View: Design Best Practices [V5.x]
3) Pass the exam VDTD510
The exam contains 115 questions that will include 6 simulations for the design of the virtual desktop infrastructure. 225 minutes are allocated for the exam; to pass it, you need to score 300 points (in total, you can score from 100 to 500 points).
VMware Certified Design Expert - Desktop ( VCDX-DT ) - VMware's highest level of desktop virtualization certification. Obtaining a status does not differ from other similar levels of Expert level - you need to do work and protect it in front of an audience that has Expert-Desktop status.
To obtain certification, you need:
1) Have the current status of VCAP-DTD and VCAP-DTA
2) Take the course (optional) View: Design Best Practices [V5.x]
3) Protect the design work of VCDX-DT
Protection should last about two and a half hours, of which at least 15 minutes should be a presentation with your design, story about your design 15 minutes, answers to questions in a discussion mode (about an hour), a story about problems when developing a design in a discussion mode (within 45 minutes) and a story about Troubleshoot when implementing a solution (30 minutes). The exam, similarly to other Expert levels, is only available in English.
