
We invite you to Moscow Django Meetup and Moscow.pm on November 6

This Thursday, November 6, at the office of Mail.Ru Group two meetings of developers will take place at once. As they say, in cramped conditions, but not in insult.
Firstly, we invite everyone to the next Moscow Django Meetup meeting. It will start at 19.00. This time the program turns out to be especially diverse.
Opening speech by Vladimir Yunev, Microsoft Strategic Technology Expert, Certified Application Developer. He will present a report on the topic “Django and Python in the Azure cloud - how, why, where to start?” Within his framework, Vladimir will talk about the possibilities and advantages of Microsoft Azure public cloud technology in terms of placing projects in Python and Django in them, about the advantages and the disadvantages of cloud hosting projects as such. Moreover, this issue will be considered in the context of the PaaS model, as well as the configuration of virtual machines and their own Linux-based infrastructure (IaaS model).
After Vladimir’s speech, a block of so-called lightning-talks will begin, short 5-minute speeches about various convenient and practical tools for developers, useful hacks.

The second meeting, scheduled for November 6, is Moscow.pm. Its beginning is scheduled for 19.30. This time, three reports will be presented:
Pavel Shcherbinin , team lead of Mail.Ru News and Hi-Tech Mail.Ru, will talk about the results of the recent Let's Play Golf contest. He will analyze some of the most interesting solutions to the problems presented by the participants, and will also award the winners of the competition.
Ruslan Zakirov, the team lead of the Perl development team at Sports.ru, entitled "Perl, PHP, Python and JS sat on the porch." Poetic, don't you find? Ruslan will talk about the peculiarities and difficulties that the developers of Sports.ru faced when creating mechanisms for interaction between the back-end and the front-end, and "how the PPPs on the backs did not quarrel with each other."
Vadim Pushtaev, Mail.Ru Search programmer, in his report “Perl Now” will talk about how Perl is used today, and why it is not like the Perl that everyone is used to thinking about. The main ideological approaches will be highlighted, as well as modules and techniques for working with them, without which it is difficult to imagine modern Perl. The report will focus on development using OOP, working with databases, organization of testing and style of writing code. The author will try to convey the experience of many years of everyday use of the language, showing how to deal with the available barley tools.
