Skypocalypse: SkypeKit - RIP; Log in from older versions of Skype - RIP.


SkypeKit is a set of tools for creating your own UI for Skype or for integrating it into third-party messengers (there was integration in Trillian, for example). Starting next week, all applications written using it will stop working. Last fall, API support was discontinued and the app store closed. Now they turn off SkypeKit.

As previously communicated, all support for SkypeKit ended on July 31, 2014. No further updates to the SkypeKit SDK will be available.
In addition, we've made the decision that from 4 August, 2014 we will be permanently retiring the SkypeKit SDK. As a result, any one accessing your SkypeKit-enabled application will be unable to sign into Skype or access any Skype-enabled functionality via your application.

Also today all old versions of skype have stopped connecting. Absolutely.
