A bit of old iron
On the day of the system administrator, we decided to unearth archival photographs. There are not very many of them; there were no phones with cameras then; it was necessary to shoot specifically on the case. Below are some old photos and rarities from our warehouse.

Guess the year from the photo

Keychains from a warehouse

This is how our warehouse looked in the 99th year.

Today's warehouse, a small fragment.

And this is our storekeeper Maxim, who takes care of the hardware in a modern warehouse in 2014.

Evolution of media as it is: diskette, cassette and HDD are on flash storage. Please note that there were latches on the tapes and floppy disks for the physical prohibition of recording.

And the evolution of the Cisco Cisco AS 5350 Router Flash Cards
commemorative piece of iron. December 22, 2006 ceased to be sold, and in December 2011 - to be supported. Underneath is the Cisco VPN 3020 firewall, sales ended in 2007, support two years ago. It is still used by some telecoms, but it’s already outdated -
Performance when encrypting data (using the AES / 3DES algorithm) is 50 Mb / s, while modern analogs show a performance of several hundred Mb / s. This piece of iron was sharpened only for receiving users, the new piece of iron also protects network assets from attacks, prevents intrusions (IPS), provides content security services, including URL filtering, protection against phishing, spam, spyware, antivirus software and content filtering .

1700 Series, Cisco 1711 and 1751 - went on sale in 2007, with support - in the middle of 2012. This router turned out to be very convenient for ATMs, just like a native one in size. Simple, reliable, high quality. They would have put it before 2020, if not for the cessation of support.

Cisco 2501 , went on sale in 2002, with support - in 2008. Ten years are no longer in use.

It is stored in the warehouse as a spare parts donor: suddenly someone else needs to be replaced in some old system. A couple more years - and will go to the museum, probably.
Cisco 2610 and Cisco 3660 : went on sale in 2003, support - in 2008. Once upon a time - high-performance routers:

Cisco 7920 Phone (left): one of the first Cisco Wi-Fi phones, support ended in 2009. Monochrome screen, large antenna. On the right is a more modern version - the screen is color, the battery is smaller. Some of our employees come with these.

Corner of the warehouse with the oldest iron for customers who have this in operation (pay attention to the old Compaq):

Engineer at work - designing the customer’s facility. Do you think this photo is older than black and white on top?
The top photo is the 99th year. It is no longer necessarily black and white and quite close to our time. But an unforgettable black and white range turns it almost to the end of the eighties. Here is a photo from the 98th year, pay attention to the characteristic IT sweaters: The

photo is slightly higher with the design - the 96th year.
And this is a classic, the 95th year, one of our earliest photographs. It looks like a research institute or a stand of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy, but no, this is our test platform:

And finally, here is the last archive post , where there are more people than iron.
