SpaceX launched 6 satellites into orbit

July 14, 2014 at 19:15 Moscow time, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle manufactured by the private company SpaceX successfully launched from the cosmodrome at the US Air Force station on Cape Canaveral. After a few minutes, it reached a low reference orbit, where at the correct altitude of about 715 km it launched 6 Orbcomm OG2 communications satellites .

The launch was supposed to take place on March 30, but was repeatedly postponed. This is another commercial launch of a private Falcon 9 rocket, after cargo delivery to the ISS. Former monopolists in the space transportation market from Roscosmos can begin to worry.

On video: Falcon 9 launch webcast starts 15 minutes before launch. There is a video from the body of the rocket itself.

Each of the satellites weighing 172 kg (power 400 W) has an estimated service life of 10-15 years.
