Introduced Nokia X2: The Next Generation of the X Series
Today, Microsoft Mobile OY (formerly Nokia Devices & Services) introduced the second generation of the Nokia X line, the Nokia X2 model and an improved platform interface (based on the Android Open Source Project).

At an affordable price (estimated cost - 99 euros excluding taxes and fees), the new product, compared to the first generation models, has a number of improvements in hardware, design, software and services.
From the point of view of the technical component, Nokia X2 is the result of the evolutionary development of the first generation of Nokia X smartphones. Although the list of changes is quite impressive.
The more powerful dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz took the place of the one-GHz Snapdragon S4. The amount of RAM has grown to 1 GB. The novelty is equipped with a built-in 4 GB drive, and also supports microSD cards up to 32 GB.

The size of the capacitive IPS-display has increased by 0.3 inches compared to Nokia X and is now quite impressive 4.3 inches. The display resolution, as before, is 800 x 480 pixels at a density of 217 ppi. For the first time in the X line, Nokia ClearBlack technology, known for many Lumia smartphones, was used, which provides the most contrasting image even in bright light.

The main camera has become 5-megapixel, having autofocus and flash. Also there was a front camera for Skype and video calls in other instant messengers. Nokia X2 supports standards such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n and GPS / GLONASS.
The 1800 mAh battery provides up to 10 hours (2G) and 13 hours (3G) of talk time and up to 23 days in standby time with two active SIM cards.
Dimensions of the device are 121.7 x 68.3 x 11.1 mm, weight - 150 grams.
The interface of the Nokia X platform, based on the Android Open Source Project, has been significantly redesigned. Instead of a two-screen and one-button interface diagram, Nokia X2 has 3 screens and two Home and Back buttons - the latter realizes quick switching between tasks.

The layout of the three-screen interface is as follows:
- the main screen with size-adjustable tiles (an analog of the main screen on Lumia smartphones, where the user can take the most frequently used applications);
- Fastlane screen called by “swipe” to the right, which provides quick access to recently used applications (for example, the ability to respond in one touch) and events;

- called by “swipe” to the left a complete list of applications, sorted alphabetically, as in Lumia smartphones.
For the start screen, more personalization options are now available, including the ability to organize tiles by color.
In Nokia X2, Microsoft services are pre-installed by default, including Outlook.com, Skype, OneDrive c (!) 15 gigabytes for free file storage in the cloud. In addition, OneNote and Yammer services are now available in the Nokia Store app store.
In Russia, Nokia X2 also continue to be friends with Yandex. It is expected that the Yandex key services will be preinstalled on the smartphone: Search, Yandex.Browser, Yandex.Maps and the Yandex.Store application store.
Nokia X2 has a bright and stylish case: on the outside, the screen is covered with a black panel with two touch buttons, the back and side faces are completely recessed into a replaceable monolithic cover. On the right side of the case there is a lock / power button and a volume rocker, and 3.5 mm audio output and Micro USB found their place in its upper part.

In general, the design of the device was inherited from Nokia X, but in the second generation the case received a new two-layer structure with a crystal clear top and a bright inner layer. The result is a rather unusual “depth effect”. At first, the model will be available with glossy green, orange and black body colors. Glossy yellow and white, as well as matte gray will complement the palette a little later.
