UAE launched a project to use unmanned vehicles for the delivery of important cargo

The idea of delivering goods using unmanned robots (quadrocopters are almost always used for this) has become popular recently.
At the same time, a similar project is planned to be implemented at the state level in the United Arab Emirates.
On February 10, a prototype of a new unmanned battery quadrocopter was announced here .
The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Rashid Al-Maktoum, personally attended the flight tests of the device.

It is planned that the devices will be used for the delivery of small loads and documents, the delivery of which must be completed in a short time (passports, driver’s license, drugs, etc.).

According to the developer, a quadrocopter with a width of 45 centimeters can fly up to 3 kilometers at a speed of 40 km / h, carry a payload weighing up to 1.5 kg and at the time of release should cost less than 4000 dirhams (which is approximately equivalent to the amount of $ 1000) . Given the very hot climate of the UAE, the drone is able to withstand the effects of intense heat and sandstorms.
To protect against unauthorized access to cargo, the quadrocopter will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a recognition system for the unique features of the eye (very popular in the Emirates).
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE, Mohammed al-Gergawi, test tests of drones will be carried out within six months in Dubai, and based on their results, the project will be launched throughout the country.
