IBM says goodbye to x86 servers, the entire line is sold to Lenovo

For a long time, IBM wanted to get rid of x86 servers in its server line, and it seems that it finally succeeded - thanks to it, Lenovo becomes one of the largest suppliers of server equipment in the world by acquiring such server lines as System x, BladeCenter, etc. The amount of the transaction amounted to 2.3 billion dollars.
It is possible that this was a necessary step due to the inability to find other buyers, since earlier IBM had already negotiated the sale of x86 servers to Dell, which apparently refused the offer of the blue giant. It is also worth noting that Lenovo got not only servers - according to a strategic agreement between IBM and Lenovo, the latter will act as a reseller of storage systems and IBM cloud computing systems, as well as some software for their production. In addition to this, about 7,500 IBM employees worldwide will be joining Lenovo.
Let me remind you that in 2005, Lenovo bought their business for the production of desktop PCs and laptops from the same IBM.
