Starting a series of articles on the startup hub of STARTTOSPEAK.COM, I’ll tell you about the project and why, how it all started, what's new in it and why it will be interesting to the end user.
From the very beginning
It all started from personal experience, from the need to improve your (my) spoken English. I wanted to learn to speak English well and correctly. Climbing the Internet, I tried to find something like a simulator for developing speech skills. To my surprise, such major services as Livemocha.com, Busuu.com, LingvaLeo.com, did not offer users anything similar. Yes, there is a lot to learn the language in a game and non-game manner, but I do not want to learn words - I want to speak! But at the same time, I'm still good enough to communicate with a native speaker, and in general I am shy to speak. And then the thought came - using the capabilities of speech recognition and synthesis to create my own project, so that the user, for example, I can improve my pronunciation in a foreign language, as well as listening skills. What do we offer users?
On the website STARTTOSPEAK.COM posted lessons and courses for training speech techniques. We register or go through social networks (so I do) and start the lesson you like, click on the start and start talking!
We answer questions, maintain a dialogue, insert words - this depends on the type of exercise you choose, while you speak a foreign language, the application recognizes your answers and gives the result of each action in the exercise, the result of completing the exercise in general, and even the course, if you pass all course exercises. At any time, you can write a comment, like a favorite exercise or course, add them to your favorites, and also subscribe to the author ... Stop,
And who makes these exercises and courses?
At the moment, the team of authors and the editors of STARTTOSPEAK.COM are engaged in this. But as soon as we introduce monetization, the situation will change. A professional in the linguistic field, let's call it the author, will have the opportunity to post his training materials in our format and make money on it. The author will be interested in offering the user a good course, so that he acquires it and begins to undergo training. Moreover, the author has the right to open his materials for free. For all materials, an editorial is required to maintain an average high level of training materials. Thus, we will launch an engine of market relations, where all parties win: both the user and the author, and we, the team STARTTOSPEAK.COM.
What is our benefit?
We will take a reasonable fee from the authors for providing software tools and editing educational materials. Therefore, we are interested in good authors! We will not take anything if the author puts the course for free.

Within the framework of the project, we can develop additional educational functionality for an individual order, for example, for a linguistic school or university.
