It is strange that the Nanosoft blog does not yet have news about this event.
However, many people occasionally need
a simple, affordable and free 2D plotting tool. That is what Nanocad can become for you.
Why am I writing this post? Because for 2 years, I’ve been drawing in Nanocad, and with each new version this process is becoming less and less like “eating a cactus”. In general, the previous free version (3.7) was already decent, but honestly, I was waiting for the update.
My colleague DrZugrik tried the new version 5.1
and here's what we noted for ourselves (under the cut):
1. Improved work with fonts and special characters.
2. The “quick trim” command has disappeared (just the trim + enter is called according to the algorithm)
3. Customizable right button
4. It became faster to load (sort of)
5. There was dwg 2013
6. Pdf became generally elusive somehow more comfortable.
7. Work has become somehow elusively more pleasant and more convenient in general.
8. I did not find the default autosave folder.
9. Over the entire period of operation, it has already flown 2 times (stability is approximately at the level of 3.7),
drops can be associated with RAM, the recommended fix is forum.nanocad.ru/index.php?showtopic=4391
10. Some errors with the clipboard have been fixed.
11. Improved handling of OLE objects.
12. You need to get a new license (for version 5.1)
13. The start screen is a little annoying.
14. Better quick choice began to work.
15. Errors in the search and replace text menus were
tested. Tested on WinXP, I don’t know if it will work in * nix under Wine, I didn’t have time to try.
In general, if you have never tried to work in Nanocad, now you can already, it really has become quite comfortable to work.
