New Hackathons and Tizen Training! And something about the past ...

The FRUCT Association continues the series of Developer Lab (trainings) and Hackathons for development under Tizen with the support of Intel, with the participation of Intel and Samsung .
By the end of the year, two new DevLabs and two Tizen Hackathons will be held! Representatives of FRUCT decided to first of all guide us to places of former glory, so the next events will be held in St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
Participation is free, but the number of seats is limited, so hurry up to register!
- November 28-30, St. Petersburg - DevLab + Hackathon
- December 5-7, Nizhny Novgorod - DevLab + Hackathon
But residents of other regions should not be very disappointed - for 2014 we have even more new Hackathons planned!

The Tizen Developer Lab is an in-depth hands-on demonstration of the great tools and APIs available today to developers building applications for the Tizen system. It includes an overview of the Tizen SDK features, an overview of the Web API, porting tips and tricks, development components, and more. Participating in Tizen DevLab, you will get the opportunity to listen to lectures and master classes by Intel and Samsung specialists, as well as receive individual consultations on development for the Tizen system.

We have already conducted several Tizen DevLabs together with FRUCT and the Samsung Tizen Eva Group guys. It was a rather interesting experience both for us and for the visitors of the trainings. Each time the program changed a little, something, if possible, improved. In some cities, it was possible to talk more about development using Web technologies, and in others, about creating native and hybrid applications.
A little bit about the speakers.

In total, the following topics were covered on Tizen DevLab:
- Introducing the Tizen Platform and its Ecosystem
- Tizen Store and Tizen App Challenge
- Tizen SDK (application for Web and native development )
- Native and hybrid applications for Tizen
- Tizen Web API and HTML5 Application Development for Tizen
- Using Developer Tools to Develop HTML5 Applications
- Using Web Analytics in Tizen
- Recommendations for building a UI in applications for Tizen
In my opinion, the most successful performances I have collected in this Youtube playlist . You can familiarize yourself with them and get a general idea of the content of the training program. But DevLab is not only speakers' speeches, but also practical exercises, a huge amount of communication and exchange of experience that cannot be transmitted through videos!
Therefore, come to Tizen DevLab to see the current version of our program, take a personal part in master classes and ask questions that interest you!
Plus, we presented several Samsung RD-PQ devices running Tizen to participants who asked the most interesting questions or showed themselves differently during DevLab.

Hackathon- This is a marathon for programmers! Participants are given only two days to create their project from scratch to a working prototype and submit it to the jury. Winners will receive cash prizes!
Russia's first Tizen Hackathon was held in Petrozavodsk in September. 13 projects participated in the competition, which in two days developed from ideas
to finished applications for the mobile version of Tizen 2.2.
Two days of coding passed almost without interruption: the participants finished working out in the late night of the first day, and continued - in the early morning of the second. All project ideas were interesting, and the overall level of implementation was pleasantly surprised! But it was only necessary to select three winners ...

The jury of the Hackathon was made up of representatives of Samsung, Intel and FRUCT: Kirill Danilov, Kirill Chuvilin, Alexander Borodin and Sergey Balandin (head of the FRUCT association). And the places of the teams participating in the Hackathon were distributed as follows:
- Anna Ogiyko - Scrabblik project

- Nikita Korzhitsky - Instruments project

- Julia Zavyalova, Artyom Pogorelov - CardiaCare project

We expect to see the finalized designs of the winners and other Hackathon participants in the Tizen Store immediately after its opening.
During development, the guys asked a lot of interesting questions, and sometimes quite difficult. It was interesting to help understand the difficulties that arise, in some way increasing your level of knowledge.
In general, everything was positive, exciting, and we received a lot of positive feedback!
So, come to the Tizen Hackathons, participate and win!
See you at the next events!
