The Internet is always and everywhere. Lexand LXR-Mini Mini Review

Is it possible to imagine modern life without the Internet?
I think that is unlikely. At home - wired, on the road - mobile, in a cafe - wi-fi. Everywhere, providers with various connection options try to help us.
However, it also happens that you, say with a smartphone, and the Internet is only wired. Or you have a computer without Wi-Fi, and the network card is working. Or it’s not at all an exotic situation - you and your friends in the country, everyone wants the Internet, and there is only one modem.
In all these cases, a small Lexand LXR-Mini router will help you.

In the small box is the device itself, a manual and a power cable (USB-microUSB).

Yes, you understood correctly. Not a charging wire, but a power wire. Unfortunately, the router does not have its own battery. To work, you need a source of 5 volts, 500 mA minimum. Well, yes it’s not difficult - every laptop has such a port (USB), and charging for the phone gives just that much.
The device is a little bigger than a lighter. Small, light, black, glossy. You can carry the router in your pocket - and no one will call you an idiot.
At the time of writing the review, the LXR-mini costs 1,700 rubles . What do we get for this money?
So here. On the one hand, the device has a USB port (USB-host), into which you can plug in a modem (3G, 4G), or a smartphone.

On the other hand - the RJ45 connector, also known as the WAN / LAN port - you can, of course, insert a patch cord with wired Internet into it. Or from the same port to receive wired Internet from a router.

On the side is a microUSB connector for power, a reset button and an activity indicator (it helps to determine if there is any Internet at all).

Working with a router is very simple. We turn on the power, wait for the device to figure it out (it's about 30 seconds inside Linux), then turn on the Internet source (either patch cord or modem) and enjoy the Internet on the other hand (Wi-Fi, wire).
Yes, by the way, the router can work in the "caught the Wi-Fi signal and made it wired" mode.
Due to the fact that all the connectors on the LXR-mini are standard - it is possible to make a long, long power cable, take the device to the roof, where it is better to catch, stick a modem, catch Wi-Fi on the terrace and sit, drink coffee and talk about Kant's philosophy.

The router admin panel is simple, but you can configure almost everything you need. There is one minus - everything is in English. This doesn’t seem like a problem to me, but for those who have trouble with languages, they will either have to poke it or use the “admin” method to set up a router. Fortunately, this is often not necessary.

Measurements of speed with a poor connection (with a router and directly).

As you can see - the router has almost no effect on speed. But getting a better signal can help.

Concluding my brief review, I want to say that I am very sorry that such a convenient device does not have its own battery. This slightly narrows the boundaries of fantasies about using the device. Well, not everyone understands the admin panel in English. Otherwise, a convenient and useful thing in the household.
