Dell buys Dell for $ 24.9 billion

I’m a little surprised that news of this magnitude has not yet been heard on Habré. Probably the same Friday makes itself felt :) So, many representatives of the Habrasociety will probably be interested to know that the decision to sell Dell was nevertheless made by shareholders in favor of Michael Dell. He is the founder of the company, and the CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Dell. As already indicated in the title, the repurchase of shares will be held for $ 24.9 billion.
Dell himself was opposed by the notorious Karl Ikan, who owns almost 9 percent of the company. After the transaction, Dell will become a private company, which, according to many experts, will allow it to become more flexible. Currently, the price of one share of the company reaches 13.85 dollars.
It is worth noting that a deal of this size does not close immediately, it is still not a trip to the store. The transaction will be carried out in stages, until about the third financial year. In fact, everything should be completed in October 2013. Of course, antitrust monitors and other regulatory bodies must give the green light to the transaction. Without approval, all regulators will have to reverse.
No matter how rich Dell may be, he makes a deal with the investment company Silver Lake Partners. Previously, there was information that Michael Dell was spending all his money on the redemption of the corporation, after the transaction, as they said, he had almost nothing left. Although, of course, “almost” for all of us can be of different scales. For some it’s one hundred rubles, and for someone it’s a couple of tens of millions of dollars.
In general, everything has already been decided, and the deal is slowly entering the implementation stage.
